Field Trips in Albany, NY

Explore with your students themes of daily life, agriculture, teamwork, and technology on a field trip to America’s first Shaker settlement, or with an outreach program in your classroom.  Our history programs:

  • can help students meet the New York State learning standards for social studies education.
  • appeal to multiple learning styles through hands-on participation, inquiry-discussion, and sensory stimulation.

Teachers may choose from exciting programs that encourage students’ awareness of Shaker traditions of respect, tolerance, and diversity.

Are you an educator that would like to bring your class to the Shaker Heritage Society, but needs funding for a field trip? Apply for a Teaching the Hudson Valley Explore Award! This grant can help cover programs, transportation, and admission fees. Please click here for more information, guidelines, and the application.
